Fully aware of the recent bomb threats that have been linked to the lagos e-centre in yaba, I set out today to see how the place was coping with the recent threat.
Perhaps I chose a wrong day to carry out my research, plainly due to the movie that was on show today, "The Avengers".
I was shocked at the large turn out of people mainly youths who came in to watch, despite all possible threats.
As I arrived the plaza I scanned around to see if there were any visible security beef ups that I could have noticed upon entry but it had appeared to me that there might not have been any changes.
The security at the gate maintained its usual level of 3 personnel with 2 unarmed guards operating handheld body scanners as used by most banks in lagos.
While inside the bustling plaza it was clear that business was gradually picking up again, as virtually all stores opened to customers amid low security presence inside, as there were virtually no security personnels to be seen inside the complex, also missing from my eye were close circuit cameras, this keen eye reporter did not record sighting any attached to ceilings or in discreet corners.
Despite all these, the atmosphere at the e-centre was merry and tense-free as lagosian trooped in to have fun possibly without care or the thought of a threat coming to light.
Perhaps the presence of a military base adjacent the plaza is security enough to withstand any threat that we hope never arises.
