VIRGIN & BRITISH AIRWAYS FACE $235m FINE FROM NIGERIA


In light of recent investigations over illegal ticket price fixing, two foreign carriers Virgin and British Airways have been fined on thursday for allegedly inflating ticket prices claiming the hike in fuel price had necessitated it.
The carriers however maintain that they have not contravened the law in anyway, although it was published in Thisday newspaper that the carriers have been fined today on same grounds.
But before you could say jack, the company's had released press statements defending their image Virgin claimed it had been contacted by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority over the fuel-charge allegation and have been assisting the NCAA in its inquiry, however they maintained that they have not broken any law.
However the two company's will have to pay full compensation to affected customers, while the deadline for the fine is in 14days.
