CBN GOV. SANUSI LAMIDO VOTED AFRICAN PERSON OF THE YEAR BY FORBES MAGAZINE

  Nigeria's central bank governor Lamido Sanusi has been voted Africa Person of the Year by Forbes magazine .  Forbes magazine's readers gave Mr Sanusi the most votes in an online poll .       He beat Mrs Sirleaf, the Liberian president who was awarded this year's Nobel Peace prize, Mr Dangote, a Nigeria business tycoon who tops Forbes' list of Africa's richest people, former Cape Verde President Pedro Verona Pires, who won this year's $5m (£3.2 m) Mo Ibrahim prize for good governance in Africa and Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan Nobel Peace laureate who died in September.



Results were  announced yesterday at the Forbes Africa Person of The Year 11 awards in Lagos. Last year, another financial publication, "The Banker", named Mr Sanusi the Central Bank Governor of the Year

GLO COMMENCES OPERATION IN GHANA.

                                      George Andah Glo Mobile Ghana Limited yesterday announced the commencement of activities marking the launch of the network starting with the 'Reserve Your Number' campaign. The campaign will enable up to one million users in Ghana to reserve their preferred numbers on the Glo Mobile Network. Addressing journalists in Accra, George Andah, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Glo Mobile Ghana, said the 'Reserve Your Number' campaign marks the first in a series of activities earmarked for the entry of the highly anticipated Glo Network onto the Ghanaian market, adding that other exciting activities have been lined up which will culminate in a mega corporate and mass cerebration like never before.
