OYO STATE WORKERS THREATEN INDEFINITE STRIKE ACTION OVER MINIMUM WAGE

Workers in Oyo State have warned that there will be no industrial peace in the state unless the state government implements the new N18,000 minimum wage.

The workers, at their congress held in Ibadan on

Friday, apart from passing a vote of no confidence in the leadership of the three labour unions in the state, rejected the salary time-table released by the state government on the implementation of the minimum wage.

The angry workers affirmed that they had passed a vote of no confidence in the labour leaders over what they described as their inability to protect their interest during the negotiation with the state government on the implementation of the minimum wage.

On the alleged compromised position of the union leaders, the workers argued that this led to the release of the unacceptable time-table by the government, insisting that there was no way industrial peace would reign in the state unless there was a change of heart on the part of the state government.

The workers, led by an acclaimed chairman of the caretaker committee, Comrade Bayo Akande, rained curses on their leaders for yielding to government overtures to short-change them in the preparation of the minimum wage time-table.

They unanimously resolved to resume at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) secretariat by 8.00a.m. every morning as from today until their demand (full implementation of the N18,000 minimum wage across board as against the current time-table which only takes care of levels 01-04) was met.

H&M Winter Lookbook

Her neyse yeni koleksiyonlar beni neşelendirmeye yetti :) Bu yazı tüm sonbahar sevmeyenler için gelsiiin :D Fall and winter are coming slowly, I heard that it will be rainy tomorrow in İstanbul. This year I made a difference and didn't complain about fall - for the ones who don't know I hate rain and fall from seasons. Maybe because of the new collections :) And I send this post to people who don't like fall all around the world :D       Neyse ki karaları bağlamıyoruz, yine rengarenk giyinmeye devam edebiliriz. Kıyafetlerin kesimleri hatları ortaya çıkarmayacak şekilde. Thank God, we can still wear our colourful clothes. But they are going to hide our lines/curv...

I REGRET VOTING JONATHAN -- DON JAZZY

That my one vote added to put the current government in power is one decision i regret with all my heart. --  Those were the words of Michael Elebeli Collins, popularly known as Don Jazzy in a recent interview with talk of naija correspondent Osaremen Ehi James over the groups current stance on  Pres. Gooduck Jonathan fuel subsidy removal.   You would recollect that at the time of the April elections Pres. Goodluck Jonathan   had received massive support from people in show business especially as it would seem, from the Mohits crew (trying to be more specific) through that popular interview session where D`banj assumed to be representing the entire youths of the federation had tried asking the current president questions that obviously he himself could not understand. But in the words of the Mo hits boss, he claims that the group never received anything for their support and never asked for it, they only showed their support because they believed {He} GEJ ...

CHARLES TAYLOR RECIEVES SENTENCE FOR WAR CRIMES & CRIMES AGAINTS HUMANITY

Charles Taylor, 64, the first former head of state to be convicted of war crimes since World War II was sentenced to 50 years in prison yesterday by an international court in The Hague, Netherlands. Taylor is due to serve his sentence at a high security prison in Britain. There is no death penalty in international criminal law. The six years he spent detained during the trial will count against his term. Meanwhile, he is appealing his conviction. Dressed in a blue suit and yellow tie, Taylor sat impassively through the roughly 45minute sentencing. Hands clasped in front of his mouth and brow furrowed, Taylor shifted uneasily when the camera broadcasting proceedings settled on him. He directed his gaze downward while Presiding Judge Richard Lussick read the sentencing statement, which began with a horror cabinet of carnage committed in Sierra Leone by rebels from the Revolutionary United Front, which the former president backed. "The accused has been found responsible...
